C-M girls get road win at Pleasantville

PLEASANTVILLE — Sophomore Delaney Underwood shot a 46 to win medalist honors, and the Colfax-Mingo girls’ golf team defeated Pleasantville at Pleasantville Country Club on May 4.

The Tigerhawks shot a 211 and downed the Trojans by 27 shots. Pleasantville’s Emma Jahner was the runner-up medalist.

Sophomore Chelsea Russell was the next best scorer for the Tigerhawks. She carded a 52. Senior Amy Russell had a 55 and freshman Sydni Hostetter shot a 55 to complete the counting scores.

The two non-counting scores came from freshman Brielle Reed and sophomore Camilla Schlosser, who turned in a 62 and 65, respectively.

Tigerhawk boys compete in home tournament

COLFAX — The Tigerhawk boys were led by sophomore Ahren Teed at the Colfax-Mingo Boys Invitational May 4.

Teed shot a 104 as the Tigerhawks finished fifth in the team standings.

Sophomore Brady Berkey finished with a 109, sophomore Skyler Aikin recorded a 110 and the final counting score of 115 came from junior Jake Dunsbergen.

The two Tigerhawk non-counting scores came from junior Wyatt Smith (121) and sophomore Nic Duffy (122).

Newton won the tournament with a 342. PCM finished second with a 347. Pella Christian was third with a 370, Saydel shot a 389 in fourth and Colfax-Mingo carded a 439 in fifth. Colo-NESCO and Clear Creek-Amana did not have enough golfers to claim a team score.
