IOWA FALLS — The Collins-Maxwell/Baxter girls’ soccer team was shutout for the second straight game on May 4 during a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Iowa Falls-Alden.
Brittany Fopma scored twice for the Cadets. Iowa Falls-Alden (3-4) led 2-0 at halftime and put in three goals in the second half.
CMB (3-5) missed a few chances early in the second half, including a penalty kick miss by junior Tatum Tremain.
The Raider girls hosted Nevada May 8. They host Knoxville at 5:30 p.m. May 11.
CMB soccer swept
by North Polk
ALLEMAN — The Collins-Maxwell/Baxter soccer teams lost a varsity doubleheader to North Polk during Heart of Iowa Conference play on May 2.
In the boys game, CMB (3-8 overall, 1-4 in HOIC play) got goals from Josh Bruntz and Ryan Sebastiano but lost 6-2.
CMB lost 10-0 to the Class 1A No. 6 Comets in the girls’ game.
Alec Boletta had three goals and Colin Swygman added three assists to lead the Comet boys (3-5, 2-1).
CMB sophomore Brendyn Padget collected 11 saves in the loss.
In the girls’ game, North Polk’s Emily Larson scored three goals and had two assists, Courtney Bonewitz collected two goals and three assists, Joy Smith scored one goal and tallied three assists and Danielle Bonewitz chipped in one goal and a pair of assists.
